What you can do to help

Campaign for Humanist representation on West Sussex SACRE in 2009

In March 2007, West Sussex County Council voted against including a Humanist representative on the Standing Advisory Committee for Religious Education (SACRE).

After the new elections in April 2009, West Sussex CC have once again banned Humanism on SACRE. Read more here.

If you want the many non-religious residents of West Sussex to be represented in RE, email the councillor responsible, Peter Griffith.

 

Should there be a daily Act of Worship in community schools?

Most primary schools in West Sussex have a daily act of worship. Most community secondary schools do not. Read more here and in the forum. You can also email the RE advisor at West Sussex County Council.

Creationists and Anti-Abortionists coming to a school near you

Schools in West Sussex are inviting Creationists to give talks. Unscrupulous Anti-Abortionist groups are also trying to turn back the clock. Email the if you have concerns about your school. Read more in the forum.
